RE: Restore Funding to the WIC Program
Dear Senator Schumer and Senator Thune:
Under the cover of darkness your colleagues in the House of Representatives voted to cut funding to the WIC Program.
As the Evangelical Catholic Bishop for the Diocese of the Northwest, I am writing to implore the Senate to restore the proposed cuts passed by the House. Too many of our women and children depend on this program for their health and nutritional welfare.
The social and political immoralities of the House’s action are so obvious that it must be corrected by the Senate.
Thank you for considering my plea on behalf of our women and children.
