Funeral Policies and Guidelines

The common celebrations of Catholic funeral services follow the Order of Christian Funerals, which consists of three main stages: the Vigil (wake), the Funeral Liturgy (Mass), and the Rite of Committal (burial).

As of August 1st, 2026, the Evangelical Catholic Church will follow these updates guidelines regarding funerals and burials.

We are currently only able to provide the Vigil and Rite of Committal because we do not yet have secured any permanent chapel space. We can however celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at a funeral home, if possible.

During the Vigil and/or before the Rite of Committal, family members and close friends must be afforded the opportunity to speak, share memories and offer prayers for their loved ones.

Because of the ecumenical spirit of the Evangelical Catholic Church, our clergy will readily accept invitations to provide pastoral care for individuals who are not members of our faith community.

The Evangelical Catholic Church shall never denied the Rites of Burial to one who ended their life by their own hand.

Stipends for pastoral care of the deceased shall reflect modesty. Families who are financially unable to offer a stipend shall remain entitled to our services.

Stipends are dispensed for the following:

Burial of a child under the age of 18.

Burial of Military, Fire and Law Enforcement Veterans.

Burial of Active Service Members KIA.

Burials for the Indigent
